CKay is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer whose real name is Chukwuka Chukwuma Ekweani. He was born on July 16, 1995, in Kaduna, Nigeria, and is widely credited with pioneering a sound he calls “Emo-Afrobeats”—a blend of Afrobeats, R&B, pop, and emotionally driven songwriting.

He became a global superstar through his 2019 hit song Love Nwantiti, which exploded internationally through TikTok and streaming platforms. The song topped charts around the world and became the first African song to surpass one billion Spotify streams
